What can we say about 2020???
Like all businesses we have experienced the challenges faced by the Covid 19 pandemic this year.
To keep both our customers and staff safe we temporarily closed our workshop doors for a short period. But work did not stop there! Behind the scenes we were continuing to answer enquiries via telephone and email for future projects, and wow we were busy.
Both old and new customers came to us with their joinery projects, and following government guidelines we gradually began to start up operations again, and were able to get back into the workshop and begin producing joinery again.
Take a look at our facebook and instagram pages to see just a little of what we have been doing.
And as we all navigate and sail through the next months we hope everyone continues to stay safe and well.
With only a few weeks left of 2019 we are busy getting our remaining orders for this year ready for delivery to our customers.
It has been another amazing year for Roussel and Moore and with some exciting projects already in the pipeline for 2020 it will be full steam ahead again when we return from our Christmas break.
Our online shop which was launched towards the end of 2018 has been going from strength to strength. Currently selling cross grain wood pellets in a variety of different timbers including Ash, American White Oak, European Oak, Iroko, Sapele and Utile. With the shop now well established we will be looking at adding more lines in 2020.
As a business social media plays a very important roll in showing a wider audience our products and services. Along with our Facebook and LinkedIn pages we have this year also launched an Instagram page giving our friends and followers old and new a look at some of the beautiful bespoke joinery we have been making. We like to show off a little and so have added pictures from beginning stages to the finished product to really give a sense of all the hard work that goes into every project. But also to show the transformation from old to new.
We look forward to sharing more of our success with you next year and if you haven't already take a look at our social media pages and all of the pictures we have shared.
Since our return after our christmas break everyone has been very busy with new customer orders in the workshop.
One being our very first cut string double kite winder staircase, the picture shows the construction in our workshop. Once ready for fitting at the customers house it will also have aluminum spindles. The customer will then finish by painting and adding a carpet runner.
We have also moved into our new office, we are still located in the same place so pop in and see us for a cup of tea.
Roussel and Moore have enjoyed another busy year both with new customers and returning customers.
Which has meant that over the last few months we have been busy investing further in our future.
Firstly we welcomed a new member to our team, Jordan has joined us as an apprentice and will over the next few years build his skills here with us to eventually become a fully qualified joiner.
We then invested in a new planer thicknesser for our workshop. This will allow us to straighten and thickness larger sections of timber, making us run more efficiently.
And then finally we have also invested in a brand new much larger office, which now gives us an area to meet with our customers away from our busy workshop. But also facilitates our steady growth as a business.
After almost a year from our customers initial enquiry, planning was finally granted for the construction of a green oak balcony at their property. Lots of hard work has been going on behind the scenes in the past weeks and months getting everything ready for fitting on site. And this week saw the beginning stages of fitting at the customers house. With all hands on deck the balcony base has now been securely placed. Further work is still in progress with pictures to follow.
After nearly 3 years with the company Kate has decided to move on and finish her accountancy qualifications. Brigitte is joining the team and will be handling all the admin and accounts. We wish Kate all the best for the future and offer a warm welcome to Brigitte.
We have just had some fantastic news from one of our customers that we have done some work for over the last couple of years. They have won the RIBA South West Award and are now on the long list for one of architect's most prestigious awards, Grand Designs RIBA 'House of the Year' 2016. Each week they will reveal the shortlist of projects with the winner being announced on the 8th December. The property is due to appear in the Sunday Times Home Supplement on Sunday 13th November and feature on the Grand Designs programme at 9.00pm on Thursday 24th November. Hopefully some of our work will be showcased. We are all very excited to be having our work on national television and showing off the fantastic bespoke work that our hardworking team at Roussel and Moore produce.
Just in case anyone didn't get to see the article, please see the link below. It wasn't mentioned in the article but as well as supplying furniture, we supplied all the exterior Iroko doors and feature panels. For a company of only 6 people we are hugely proud to have our work mentioned in a national paper and wish the Owers family good luck with the Grand Designs and RIBA House of the Year Awards.
We have bags of Assorted Firewood for sale. £2.00 per bag or 10 bags for £15.00. As the Autumn months are fast approaching, why not pop in and stock up.
Kate is working on our profile on our new Houzz page. This site gives Homeowners ideas for renovation and allows us to showcase even more of our work, receive reviews, create "Idea Boards" etc. It gives us a chance to ask questions of our potential customers or for people to ask us questions. Please feel free to have a look around our page.
Roussel and Moore have just joined Twitter. Feel free to have a wonder around our page. You can find us at @RousselMoore.
